Doug came home for lunch today and said that our neighbors (a vacant home that is now owned by the lovely bank) its water was running, more then likely broke and there is a lot of water running down the gutter...So we both went and looked to see if there was anything we could do, and there was nothing. I wasn't about to reach my hand into the main water box...even if it was full of water! Besides that I wouldn't know what I was looking for. So we went home and I called the City....they ended sending out some guys (we joked about them sending out 4 trucks, but they only sent out one)to fix the problem. By the time Doug went back to work he called me and said they were gone and it looked like they fixed it since there wasn't any water running. He just wanted to say that there were a few trucks heading our way and that there was also a cement cutter and a backhoe heading our way... we laughed thinking about the joke of 4 trucks and guys to fix the small water problem....well lo and behold they were heading this way. They shut off the water because they couldn't see where the leak was coming from and now they have ripped up the sidewalk and I think some of the driveway and they said that the water will be off for about 2 to 3 hours! And thus I think to myself....
WHAT HAVE I DONE?!?! *grin*
I know its not my fault...but still...I suppose its better then the street falling into its self. :)
